Poverty is one of the most fundamental issues, and urgently needs to be addressed. Moving people out of poverty forms a basis of much international development policy. Getting rid of poverty is a tremendous challenge for the global community. Although everyone agrees on the goal of poverty lessening, policies often remain contentious or futile. Given that livelihoods of millions are at stake, there is an imperative demand to reconsider the causes and remedies of poverty in developing countries context.
