This was my second project at GMRT. GMRT is known as Giant Metrewave radio Telescope is very unique in its field. It consists of an array of 30 fully steerable parabolic dishes, each of 45 m in diameter, located over a region of 25 kms. Six dishes are installed in each of the three arms of the “Y” shaped array and the remaining 12 are installed in and around Central Electronics Building (CEB). Now the Antennas have dual polarized feeds at all the six frequencies. My work was related to Telemetry System, one can say the backbone of GMRT. Telemetry system is a vital system since it controls and monitors all other system and all the signal generated by other systems for antennas have to pass through Telemetry system. It has the major responsibility to check the antenna health. So that is the lab where people are always busy to improve the system and to make it more and more efficient and user friendly. The research and development works are always in progress here. This time there plan was to develop the decade old Local Oscillator Synthesizer System with the help of RCM400.. I have replaced the MCM card by Rabbit card and made the system more handy, user-friendly.
