Beyond the Test Scores: One School's Efforts to Improve Student Writing. Edition No. 1

This text is a school study of how one school addressed teacher preparation to teach writing to students in the era of high-stakes assessments. The issue of how to succeed on these assessments while also teaching students to create content-rich text is the focal question this study attempts to address. Further the role of the school administrator as instructional leader is explored in relation to curriculuar knowledge and how to assist teachers in instructional improvement which promotes student learning.
