Any firm in the pharmaceutical industry, like other organizations, requires an efficient and effective Management Information Systems (MIS). The lack of timely access of the management in pharmaceutical firms in Iran, to necessary and sufficient information, because of the inefficiency and/or ineffectiveness of their MIS, is the concerned problem in this book. In this research, in addition to describing the current condition of Information Systems and Management Practice of the research environment as an example from pharmaceutical firms i.e. the Tehran Chemie Pharmaceutical Co., the effects of the Information Systems and Management Practice on each other are demonstrated and suggestions for improving their condition are provided. Afterwards, by considering the existing MIS and analyzing the information requirements of all the decision-makers, the deficiencies are designed, the defects are corrected and eventually the suggestions for implementing the mechanized MIS in the company are offered. It is the hope of the author that this book be considered a guideline for all MIS managers, specialists and scholars.
