Managerial Challenges in a Belgian Company. Edition No. 1
VDM Publishing House, May 2008, Pages: 72
The employees had significant difficulties working together, cooperating with each other and creating a pleasant office atmosphere that motivates them to work more likely and to do a better job. It was visible that the contradiction is mainly between the members of the two nationalities - I intentionally do not call them ethnicities as they regard themselves different nationalities and not two ethnicities of one nation. Nevertheless, the appearance of this conflict is not unique for the company, it leads back to an overall phenomenon in Belgium.
The principal question to be answered is where exactly the problem lies preventing the Flemish and the French from working effectively together and what can help them do so. As the leaders are the ones being able to make changes towards this aim, the problem brings a managerial question to life. The desired situation would be to find a way to bring the two nationalities together in a peaceful and tolerant business environment, which has an enhancing impact on the employees.
My dissertation defines, analyses and gives a solution for this particular case. If we think in global terms: a brand new wave of thinking is needed.
