Drugs may improves the stiffness of arterial wall through either functional or structural mechanism. This book therefore review the effect of oral hypoglycaemic agent (OHA) metformin or sulfonylurea or combination on arterial stiffness in Malay diabetic patient. Diabetic patients have increased arterial stiffness compared with age and sex-matched non diabetic subjects, which may partly explain why diabetes mellitus are associated with increased CV risk.
