Turkey is known as a country with strong social
cohesion. Even so, figures of runaway children in
Turkey are increasing dramatically.

Studies reveal that runaway episodes happen in all
families regardless of such factors as economic,
race, or geographic situations. Teenagers run away
for several reasons; however, early intervention is
highly suggested by studies to mitigate the problem.
The family appears to be playing the major role in
both causing and solving the runaway problem.

This book focuses on the factors that cause children
to run away and on interaction programs to intervene
and/or prevent this problem. Although the main focus
of the book is the runaway problem in Turkey; it
provides explanations on the causes of the problem
and suggests solutions to it from around the world
that may also serve other countries and families
experiencing similar issues.
