Databases in mobile telecommunications have become
more and more important due to growing data volumes.
More efficient database solutions are needed to
support temporal and logical consistency. This book
presents a possible database architecture for the
growing data dilemma. It presents a database
architecture for IN and GSM data, and a performance
analysis toolbox for transaction-based software.

Using the presented architecture as a test case, a
detailed queue model analysis is presented. The
result of the analysis is twofold. The most
important result is that even a complex
transaction-based system may be analyzed accurately
enough to get relevant and reasonable results with
the toolbox. Second, it appears that parallel
database architectures have a lot to offer in
high-volume data environments.
