This book focusses on CSR to make a statement for the awareness of sustainable entrepreneurship. With the acknowledgment that business plays a fundamental role in job and wealth creation in society, CSR is the way in which a company achieves the integration of economic, environmental and social imperatives to achieve sustainable development, while addressing stakeholder expectations and sustaining shareholder value. From this research it will become clear that governments and the EU invest a lot in CSR. CSR is a huge contributor to Europe’s employment and social agenda – the pursuit of more and better jobs. It is also an important driving force of better global governance, reinforcing existing policy tools such as legislation and social dialogue. My work for human rights organisation Project Aware is a result of my interest in internationalisation processes and the question to what extent this can facilitate the awareness of human rights violation. This work of interest to Project Aware but also to organisations and companies in both private and public sector because knowledge on CSR enables a more social and sustainable world.
