Already as a child most people became aware of the
big continent Africa and its image of hosting a real
unknown world, far away from the civilization. It
promises adventure! Africa weaves its magic around
people’s lives and there certainly is the wish to
experience a part of this treasure once in a life
time. Later on people become aware of the possibility
to travel to Africa. There are many ways to
do so to the most spectacular venues. This is what
makes Africa so special: a well presented and
prepared world within the unknown beauty of a black
continent. But this tourism relies on residents,
relies on people who live there and which mostly
never have been able to be a tourist and to feel what
it means to travel, to be a tourist and to be
welcomed as a visitor. And this is what must be taken
into consideration - managing tourism to Africa and
to South Africa carefully by tourism organisations
and operators as well as all other stakeholders involved
to that type of contributor for a better living
standard of its hosts - the involvement
of the citizens at all stages of tourism development
