The study of Cultural Fluidity grew out of a desire
to study multicultural leaders within a growing
global culture and explore how the experiences of
these leaders influence their ability to adapt or
shift their cultural styles within the US Business
context.Cultural Fluidity is an understanding of
cultural differences and how they manifest in the
global business environment. It is the intersection
between cultural experience-what is considered
classic core knowledge of a given culture-and the
ability to adapt from one culture to another based
on an organic, natural flow of experiences. The
words multicultural,cross-cultural,and intercultural
are used interchangeably in today’s global business
landscape to describe the general dimensions and
perspectives between an individual’s primary
culture, where original values and beliefs are
shaped and embedded, and any adopted cultures, in
which new values and beliefs are adhered to or
adopted by that individual.Today,it is cultural
diversity which serves as a lens through which we
perceive others, acting as a reference point by
which we evaluate all other cultures.
