- Crow Pass Crossing – where athletes scale a
mountain and cross a frigid glacier-fed river in bear
country to become crowned winner. A modern-day Vince
Lombardi, Caldwell has no interest in losers. This
book bridges the distance between Caldwell’s
definition of success and runners he calls
“wannabes,” such as the author. It is a book for all
of those people who’ve laced up running shoes and
questioned why they ran. It's a book that explores
reasons to run that don’t involve winning.
