The importance of addressing HIV/AIDS as a fundamental issue affecting the workplace has now been firmly recognized by most actors within the profit and non profit sectors in Uganda. Non- governmental organizations and profit oriented businesses have realized the need to address the impact of HIV/AIDS on productivity, organizational functioning and profitability. As a result, they have designed HIV/AIDS workplace policies to guide them in managing HIV/AIDS related issues within and outside their work settings. Having a policy in place however does not guarantee effective implementation and this may be due to a number of factors. This book provides a comparative overview of the factors affecting implementation of workplace policies in the profit and non profit sectors in Uganda given their differences in goals and structure. The analysis should be useful to profit and non profit organizations and researchers with interest in the area.
