This book will provide an understanding of why adolescent initiation of smoking is important, and how a comprehension of this issue can contribute to smoking prevention efforts. Targeting this behavior during adolescence may help alleviate the public health burden of chronic diseases, such as cancer, that result from cigarette smoking. The investigation, its methods, as well as procedures in this book revolve around the Multi-Attribute Utility (MAU) model, which allows for careful examination of smoking initiation from a multidimensional perspective.
