Translation Equivalence: Discoursally Defined. Edition No. 1
VDM Publishing House, Oct 2009, Pages: 416
Translation studies offer a fascinating arena for the applied linguistic research with ample examples of how the same message arising from the same 'context of situation' may be textualized differently in different languages. By trying to investigate the sociolinguistic and anthropological reasons behind such variations, applied linguistics can contribute a lot to contrastive semiotics. The present book is a step in this direction.
