The Grid Computing changes the way people using computers by allowing geographically separated people and computers to collaborate, and increases the aggregate performance of available computational resources for important applications. In the effort to maintain its efficiency and productivity, it is crucial to provide a fault tolerate environment in grid. The work on fault management is especially challenging due to the complexity of grid, and it is difficult to satisfy grid users with different needs and expectations. This book proposes a fault management framework in grid based on the application of the Mobile Agent. This framework consists of various agent components in an agency, each one of them has its distinct role in fault management. These agents are able to migrate, to communicate and work autonomously to complete their tasks at multiple networked computational devices. The Mobile Agent technology is proven effective in Grid Computing due to its mobility, scalability, flexibility, reusability and ability to work autonomously in distributed and heterogeneous environment.
