A research about the Regime, which was
overthrown by the US-led coalition in 2003. The
investigation explains the reasons of the
Operation 'Iraqi Freedom'. Iraq was unable before
1972 to reach a larger development of its Oil-
industry. It tried permanently to destabilize the
successful oil producing countries of the region,
for instance, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The
influence of the Soviet Union grew in Iraq since the
early 1970’s. Saddam Hussein represented the policy
of the Warsaw Pact in his own country and in the
Middle East. The permanent conflicts with Iran and
Kuwait and the Blockade of the United Nations
hindered a further development of the Iraqi Oil
Industry. The Operation 'Iraqi Freedom' in 2003
stopped Iraq's last try to reach a larger oil-market
