Student Satisfaction. Edition No. 1
VDM Publishing House, Jan 2009, Pages: 284
The internationalisation of education remains one of the major challenges faced by universities as a result of the increasing mobility of students worldwide. The key outcome of this mobility is the presence of a diverse student population in university campuses with varying expectations and demands. This book provides insights into factors influencing satisfaction among four groups of postgraduate students from Asia studying in Australian universities. Attracting and retaining students in such a market environment require major adjustments in teaching and service delivery strategies in universities. These findings will be useful to universities in the development of strategies to enhance student experience and satisfaction. The focus on Asia and postgraduate students is dictated by current trends in the international education market. Asia remains and will continue to remain the principal source of international students in universities in Australia as well as worldwide. The growth of international postgraduate students seeking education overseas has increased since the beginning of the decade but the academic research on this potential student segment is still limited.
