Differential Deserialization for Optimized SOAP
Performance. Edition No. 1
VDM Publishing House, April 2009, Pages: 296
The SOAP protocol emerged as the standard communication protocol for Grid systems due to its robustness, language and platform independence, and its interoperable and extensible format. SOAP's message format hinders its performance. This book presents differential deserilization (DDS), a receiver-side SOAP performance optimization technique. The book discusses DDS design and implementation in detail and presents a detailed performance study demonstrating the effectiveness of DDS when received SOAP messages exhibit similarity. The book also describes differential serialization (DS), DDS' sender-side counterpart and presents a performance study demonstrating the effectiveness of DS and DDS, when used together, for applications that exchange similar messages.
