This book narrates the stories of attempts of change
in violent behavior towards loved ones shared by men
in group treatment. It also provides an overview of
scholarly literature about causation, treatment
effectiveness, and change process models, a context
for reading and understanding those stories.
Fourteen men in group treatment provide candid
insights into their perception of violent behaviors
and attempts at changing those. This book is a
valuable resource for treatment providers and
evaluators alike. The author of the book offers a
discussion on how treatments may be redesigned for
improved outcome as measured by adoption and
sustenance of non-violent behaviors at home. The
author also recommends how measurement of success of
treatment may be improved. The last chapter
stimulates thinking about inventing new ways of
using knowledge from these two sources, literature
and men themselves, for improved treatments and its
outcomes.
