Filipinos overseas constitute a diaspora, more than eight million people living and working in almost every country in the world. This phenomenon will continue and increase. Through research and stories, the project aims to provide a better understanding of contemporary Filipino labor migration. The analysis is based on theoretical frameworks by philosophers including Gadamer, Habermas, and Ricoeur, and should help shed light on this important economic, social, political and cultural occurrence. For the author, it is a personal journey of discovery she wishes to share.
