This book represents numerical study of global and local flow field and heat transfer variables in internal and external sides of a novel compact heat exchanger. The heat exchanger composes of impinging jet flow arrays on the external side and number of crossflow staggered tube bundle in a duct flow on the internal side. The numerical simulations have been carried out using FLUENT package and Reynolds average methods with wall functions are used and analyzed for turbulence modeling. The results are validated using various experimental articles. The models and validations start from simpler cases and gradually is extended to complex 3D, swirling turbulent flows. Based on combination of results obtained in different stages, a procedure is defined for designing novel heat exchanger design with an optimum performance. Furthermore, the research has significant contribution in comparing different turbulence models and wall functions in simulation of flow and heat transfer in variety of complex flow patterns.
