Private equity and especially venture capital represent a vital source of funding and support for new and innovative companies that might become the important future pillars of the economies. However, in people’s mind there is still a shadow of unknown about this industry. It was a crucial role of venture capital as a part of economy that led me to focus more on this subject and offer broader insights of what this industry does and how. As there is still a miscomprehension of what venture capital is one of the aims of this book is to offer complex overview of private equity and venture capital, with the emphasis on different roles they play in the economies. As I found out during preparation of this book, there is only little literature dealing with this topic in CEE region. Thus, the book offers the most important academic information about the industry and provides reader with valuable insights. For those who are more deeply interested, it comprises also various analyses of related issues.
