Digital Signal Processing (DSP) is one of the most powerful technologies nowadays. It is the study of signals and their representation and processing methods. It has a very broad range of fields: communications, radar, medical imaging, audio and video compression. Digital signal processing and analog signal processing are subfields of the signal processing, which is the generally term for analysis, interpretation and manipulation of signals. This book will demonstrate the implementation of signal processing algorithms on a new technology called FPOA (Field Programmable Object Array). The algorithms, which will be implemented, are one of the most fundamentally algorithms in the DSP world: Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT).
Dipl.-Ing. Dimitar Dimitrov finished his study in Electrical Engineering at the University of Ulm. The subject of his diploma thesis was the implementation of signal processing algorithms on the new programmable technology called FPOA (Field Programmable Object Array). This book will represent his research into this topic.
