Born in 1970 in Nepal, Dr. Chhatra Sharma completed his schooling from Shree Shanti Model Secondary School, Manigram. He completed Intermediate in Science from Butwal Multiple Campus, Bachelor in Science from Tri-Chandra College, and MSc in Zoology from the Central Dept of Zoology, Tribhuvan university, Nepal. He started his career as Research Assistant PW Project (1996-97) in Makalu-Barun National Park and Conservation Area to study ecological behavior of Himalayan Black Bear. He taught zoology (part time) at Tri-Chandra College from 1997-2001. He worked as Senior Teacher of Zoology in Hermann Gmeinar Higher Secondary School from 1997 to 1998. He worked as Lecturer at St. Xavier's Campus from 1998 to 2001. He earned MSc (2001-03) from Noragric, Agricultural University of Norway. He got a PhD degree from the Dept of Ecology and Natural Resource Management, Norwegian University of Life Sciences in 2008. He joined Human and Natural Resource Studies Centre, Kathmandu University as visiting faculty (2008-10) and joined Aquatic Ecology Centre, Kathmandu University as a Project Coordinator (2008-10). Currently, He is working as Assistant Professor at Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing.
