Over the past decade there has been strong movement toward networking to support people in their natural communities. Person-Centered planning reflects a determination to put the person's desires, dreams, hopes, and needs at the very center of every plan made for them. Person-Centered plans are challenging to make and to carry out. At the root of the process is a simple but elusive goal: people (both with and without disabilities) want to have a home of their own, to go to school, and to have a good job. People want the right (and the knowledge they need) to be the person in charge of the decisions that impact their personal lives. But they wonder: How does one go about this?
