Father Involvement in Children's Education:. Edition No. 1
VDM Publishing House, April 2010, Pages: 128
Family involvement has been a key factor in early childhood education for many years. But early childhood educators tend to engage more with mothers than fathers. The study of fathers’ involvement in children’s development and education has not been given adequate attention in Kenya. This book provides insights on how fathers are useful in enhancing children’s education by getting involved in their educational activities. The book reveals that fathers who engage in their children’s education influence how children perform in school activities. This book was written after a Doctoral research that was conducted on fathers’ involvement in children’s education in Gucha District Kenya. The author believes that in the present age fathers must strengthen their role as parents to shape their children’s development and learning. Parents, teachers, trainers, policy makers and early childhood experts will find this book useful in encouraging fathers to be actively involved in children’s educational activities.
