The capability to perform repeated high-intensity running is an discriminatory performance quality among soccer players at different standards of the game. This book examines and evaluates the indicators of repeated high-intensity running capability through the complete soccer season in youth professional soccer players. Laboratory and field-based test performance measures were evaluated during the soccer season. Results suggested that the measures of intermittent high-intensity running might be the appropriate indicators to assess repeated high-intensity running capability in youth professional soccer players especially with respect to the high-intensity work performed during the soccer games. Motion analysis studies might be necessary to evaluate translation of RSA test performance during match play. Future studies on the effect of environmental conditions in the Asian countries on repeated high-intensity running performance during match play are recommended. This book will be of interest to exercise physiologists, sports scientists, researchers interested in intermittent sports, sports trainers, undergraduate and graduate students.
