Communication is blood stream of development administration and for rural development nothing is more important than the transfer of useful ideas from the sources to users. To make farming communities better informed in the use of any innovation, the extension worker requires communication devices that can overcome the barriers of illiteracy and tradition which are pre-dominant among the resource poor farmers and drive home the message effectively. SAAOs are considered as the key extension workers and change agents from whom farmers seek advice and information. For this reason, they use various information sources in receiving information related to agriculture. They use those sources which they think more effective and more reliable. Therefore, the book, describes the rural network pattern of extension workers with the different information sources and also identifies their priority of using these sources. It is expected that the findings will be helpful for the professionals of agriculture, communication fields as well as other rural development organizations.
