The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of adult education programs at the Women Program Center (WPC) at the Baqa'a refugee camp in Jordan. The participants were a sample of 111 women refugees who were graduated from WPC programs as well as the persons who administered and developed the courses in the programs. The study addressed four research questions pertaining to the experiences of Palestinian refugee women in five adult education courses (sewing, hairdressing, computer skills, straw-making and cultural awareness in the two WPC programs, namely vocational (skills training) and cultural awareness between 1985 and 2008. The results obtained from this research indicated that WPC programs were effective, and that the refugee women were anxious to pursue adult education. Nevertheless, there is plenty of room for improvement. Also, the findings showed that there were five themes in the stages of the development of the women: interpersonal relationships, personality change, opportunities, family, and future.
