Bottom up approach has for so long been advocated as the most suitable model of involving people in policy formulation process., but so far has not much been put into practiced. The main objective of the study was to assess citizen participation in poverty reduction strategy in Tanzania. Specifically the researchers intended to assess the effectiveness of PRSP on factors like involvement of the community at the grassroots level in the PRSP formulation process. Factors to be assessed were such as gender, age, education level, and challenged faced in the whole process of PRSP formulation.
