Stress is one of the risk factors contributing to the etiology of periodontitis. Certain jobs are stress inducing, but one of the jobs that is said to cause a hell lot of stress is air traffic controlling and such stress is as long as air traffic controller (ATC) is on duty. The objective of this study is to investigate the the periodontal health of (ATC)at Khartoum International Airport. The results showed that (ATC) has statistically significant increase in plaque index (P=0.004), gingival index (P=0.035) and probeable pocket depth (P=0.006). In conclusion the study showed no significant association between air traffic controlling and gingival recession. But,on the other habd, significant association with Gingival index, Plaque index, and probeable pocket depth may be indicative of the deleterious effect of the job on periodontal health.
