The world has been suffering from various environmental problems. These problems have dominated world media due to their catastrophic and ever increasing nature.The environmental problems mainly climatic change,deforestation and flood have resulted due to improper utilization of natural resource. Moreover, various literatures show that environmental deterioration has been raising at alarming rate and hence world inhabitants have greatly affected by poverty and related plight. As a response to these ill environmental management,variuos international agreements were signed by UN member states. Ethiopia also signed these agreements and made them part of domestic laws.The paradox,however, is that environmental depletion mainly deforestation of forest has been mounting.Thus,the policies and strategies on environment have remained paper tiger since the attempt towards their implementation has not realized yet.In this regard,this book presents the perception of local community on decentralised forest management in the study area.The book is vital for practitioners,experts and researchers in the area.
