The genus Freesia that belongs to the family Iridaceae and South African origin is one of the most important cut flowers, in which the Netherlands is the major producer in the world. However, due to increment of production cost and stagnation of market price, there is a decline in the production areas in the Netherland. Since the crop was new for Ethiopian agro-climatic conditions, several production constraints are being observed on the already established farm. This book, therefore, provides information in corm size and planting density effect on flower and corm yield and quality. Thus, greenhouse experiment conducted using different planting densities (90, 100 and 110 corms per m2), Corm sizes (3, 3.5 and 4 cm in circumference) on two varieties of Freesia hybrid. The analysis result is the first specifically in Ethiopia. And truly useful to professionals, growers, investors or anyone else who may interested in this fascinating cut flower.
