Abstract
NEW YORK (Standard & Poor's) Sept. 19, 2011--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services raised its school issuer credit rating (ICR) on Northwest Local School District (Stark, Summit & Wayne Counties), Ohio's general obligation (GO) bonds one notch to 'A' from 'A-'. The outlook is stable. The upgrade reflects Standard & Poor's opinion of the district's improved finances. At the same time, Standard & Poor's assigned its 'AA' program rating and 'A' school ICR and stable outlook to the district's $10.436 million series 2011 unlimited-tax GO refunding bonds. The rating service also affirmed its 'AA' program rating, with a stable outlook, on the parity GO bonds.
