Abstract Standard & Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AA' rating, and stable outlook, to Bexar County, Texas' series 2004A combination tax and revenue certificates of obligation, series 2004 combination flood control tax and revenue certificates of obligation, series 2004 unlimited-tax GO road bonds, and series 2004 limited-tax GO bonds. The rating reflects the county's: Diverse economy with a strong military presence and a growing services sector that includes tourism and health services; Solid property tax base growth, averaging more than 5% annually since fiscal 1996; and Moderate overall debt burden due mostly to the significant issuance of underlying entities.
