Standard & Poor's speculative-grade composite spread expanded by 23 basis points (bps) on Thursday to 760 bps--a new high for the year. The investment-grade composite spread widened by 7 bps to 222 bps. By rating, the 'AA' spread expanded by 5 bps to 157 bps, and 'A' and 'BBB' expanded by 7 bps each, to 198 bps and 269 bps, respectively. The 'BB' spread widened by 18 bps to 548 bps, 'B' expanded by 22 bps to 800 bps, and 'CCC' widened by 33 bps to 1,178 bps.
