Abstract
NY -- Standard & Poor's CreditWire 4/30/98 -- Standard & Poor's today affirmed its ratings on Texas Utilities Co. (TXU) and; its subsidiaries', Texas Utilities Electric Co., Texas Utilities Mining Co., and ENSERCH Corp. in the U.S., and Eastern Energy Ltd. in Australia; and removed the ratings from CreditWatch with negative implications (see list below). The ratings were placed on CreditWatch on March 3, 1998, in anticipation of a potential bidding war with PacifiCorp for The Energy Group PLC in the U.K. The preferred stock ratings of Texas Utilities Electrical Capital I and Texas Utilities Electrical Capital III, IV, and V have also been removed from CreditWatch (see list below).
