Abstract These days, more and more people are turning on their computers instead of their cable boxes to watch video. With 'over-the-top' (OTT) video, customers source their own video content on the Internet and watch it over the local cable or telephone operators' high-speed data connections. While OTT is still in a relatively nascent stage, industry research firm SNL Kagan predicts that the 2.5 million households that used OTT as a multichannel provider in 2010 will rise to more than 12 million by 2015.
