Abstract
The rating on Omaha, Neb.'s bonds reflects the city's broad and diversified regional economy, conservative financial management, and a manageable debt burden. Located in eastern Nebraska, Omaha (population 367,000) is the largest city in the state. The city serves as a regional economic center for the five-county Omaha MSA. Solid employment growth in services, trade, and manufacturing have augmented the stability provided by agri-business. Unemployment has been consistently below the state and national averages due to the city's diverse employment base.
