--On Nov. 3, 2009, Berkshire Hathaway Inc. announced plans to acquire Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp. --We are placing our long-term ratings on Burlington Northern Santa Fe on CreditWatch with positive implications. The short-term 'A-2' rating is not on CreditWatch. --At close of the transaction, we will assess the new capital structure and any potential parental support from Berkshire Hathaway. NEW YORK (Standard & Poor's) Nov. 4, 2009--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services today placed its 'BBB' corporate credit rating and other long-term ratings on railroad Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp. on CreditWatch with positive implications. The rating actions on Fort Worth, Texas-based, Burlington Northern reflect its announcement that Berkshire Hathaway (AAA/Watch Neg/A-1+) will acquire the railroad for a transaction price...
