Abstract
(This is the final article in Standard & Poor's Ratings Services' four-part series on the issues affecting the credit and business of coal-fired electricity generation at public power utilities.) In previous articles we examined the difficulties and risks public power companies face in obtaining coal, the environmental and technological issues affecting an issuer's business and credit profile, and the financial concerns facing many utilities, such as pricing pressures, hedging strategies, and capital commitments.
