On May 22, 2008, Standard & Poor's Ratings Services revised the CreditWatch implications for its ratings on Delta Air Lines Inc. to negative from positive, as a result of the potential impact of record high jet fuel prices. The CreditWatch review, which is also being undertaken for other rated U.S. airlines, is prompted by the material weakening of the company's financial outlook caused by dramatic increase in jet fuel prices. We placed our ratings on Delta on CreditWatch with positive implications on April 15, 2008, following the announced merger agreement with Northwest Airlines Corp. (B+/Watch Neg/--), indicating that we expected that the rating of a combined airline would be either 'B' or 'B+'. We now believe that the best case...
