Bombardier Inc. Ratings Placed on CreditWatch Negative From Difficulties in U.S. Air Industry Sep 04

Abstract TORONTO (Standard & Poor's) Sept. 13, 2004--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services today said it placed its ratings, including the 'BBB-' long-term corporate credit ratings, on transportation equipment manufacturer Bombardier Inc. (Bombardier) and its subsidiaries, Bombardier Capital Ltd., Bombardier Coordination Center S.A., Bombardier Luxembourg Finance S.A., and Bombardier Capital Funding L.P., on CreditWatch with negative implications. 'The CreditWatch placement reflects the continuing deterioration in the U.S. airline sector that could impair further Bombardier's ability to restore its profitability,' said Standard & Poor's credit analyst Kenton Freitag. Bombardier's financial results have been weak for the ratings category and maintenance of its rating is dependent on a recovery in margins and cash generation.
