Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has raised its long-term rating on the town of Pittsfield, Maine's 1998 taxable general obligation (GO) tax increment financing bonds to 'A' from 'A-', reflecting the town's strong and stable financial position. The rating also reflects the community's: Below-average, yet adequate, household income measures; Stable tax base and strong per capita market value; and Low debt burden and limited capital needs. The town's GO pledge secures the bonds outstanding. Pittsfield is located in Somerset County, along Interstate 95 in central Maine, 20 miles north of Waterville, 40 miles north of Augusta, and 30 miles west of Bangor.
