Abstract
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services believes the outlook for credit quality in the U.S. water utility sector for the remainder of 2011 will be stable. While we expect the economy to remain weak, we see little movement in regulated water utilities' credit risk profiles during periods of economic change. The essential services that the sector provides and the rate-regulated nature of its business allow it to generate stable cash flows and recover its costs despite economic conditions. The following list ranks all the rated companies in this industry from strongest to weakest based on rating and outlook.
