The report is devoted to the research of current standing of market of iodine in CIS countries and in the world and forecast of its development. The report is composed of 10 Sections, contains 97 pages, including 31 Figures, 23 Tables and 6 Appendices. The report is a desk study. As information sources, we used data of Russian Federal Statistic Service (production data), Russian Federal Customs Service, State Customs Committee of Ukraine (data on foreign trade operations), Russian official domestic railage statistics (data of JSC «RZHD»), sectoral and regional print press, annual and quarterly reports of companies, as well as web-sites of company-producers and consumers of iodine and iodine products. Besides, data of CIS Inter-State Statistic Committee and Statistic Agency of Kazakhstan, as well as own «InfoMine» database were applied.

The first Section of the report is devoted to analysis of iodine reserves in the CIS. The Section presents data on quantity of fields of iodine, their geographic location, reserves and degree of development.

The second Section of the report presents information on available techniques of iodine production and their features.

The third Section is devoted to analysis of production of iodine in the CIS. The Section presents imposed on quality of iodine of various grades, data on volumes of the production in 1992-2009, traces dynamics of production of iodine, describes basic producers of iodine and their current standing.

The fourth Section is devoted to projects on development of iodine production in the CIS.

The fifth Section is devoted to analysis of foreign trade operations in iodine in Russia and other CIS countries, presents data on volumes of export and import of the product, estimates regional pattern of the supplies, presents data on volumes of iodine, supplied by exporters and to importers.

The sixth Section of the report describes foreign trade operations in iodine-containing products in Russia, Ukraine and Turkmenistan with analysis of volumes and directions of export-import supplies of the products.

The seventh Section gives information about prices on iodine at Russian domestic market, as well as analysis of dynamics of export-import prices on iodine for the latest 5 years.

The eighth Section of the report is devoted to consumption of iodine in Russia. The Section presents supply-demand balance of the discussed products, estimates sectoral pattern of consumption, describes basic consumers and fields of application of iodine.

The ninth Section is devoted to world market of iodine. The Section presents data on reserves of iodine in the world, dynamics of iodine production, main producers of iodine products, prices and world consumption of iodine.

The tenth, final Section of the report is devoted to forecasts of iodine production in the CIS up to 2015.

The Appendices contain addresses and contact information for main Russian producers and consumers of iodine (in pharmaceutical industry). In addition, the Appendices present detailed information on main Russian exporters and importers of iodine and iodine products, including data on grade pattern, suppliers, volumes and prices.

This allowed the authors to reveal actual pictures of the iodine market in CIS/Russia and in the world and its prospects.
