Quartz Glass Resources Market Research in the CIS (Russian Version)

INFOMINE Research Group, March 2011, Pages: 156

This report focuses on research of current condition of market of quartz glass resources in the CIS and forecast of its development. Depending on the particle size and chemical composition quartz raw material can be used both in natural form and in concentrates derived by enrichment of the sands.

TOPICS COVERED

The report consists of 8 parts, including 36 figures, 56 Tables and 2 Appendices.

In the first chapter data on reserves of glass sands in the CIS countries are presented.

The second chapter provides an overview of existing technologies of enrichment of quartz sands and requirements for quality of the commercial products.

The third chapter contains data on volumes of extraction and production of glass sands in the CIS countries in 1999-2010.

The fourth chapter focuses on the current position of the main producers of glass sands in the CIS. It presents data on volumes of production, characteristics of the products, directions and volumes of supplies, as well as plans for further development of the production. Besides, projects for the extraction of sands are also described.

In the fifth chapter data on foreign trade operations in glass sands in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan are analyzed.

The sixth chapter shows the current prices for glass sands and presents the dynamics of changes in export and import prices for the products in 2005-2010.

The seventh chapter analyses the domestic consumption of glass sands in Russia, Ukraine and other CIS countries. Besides, this chapter presents sectoral structure of consumption of the sands, data on directions and volumes of the supplies, described the current position of the largest consumers and their plans for the development of production.

In the final chapter of the report forecast of production and consumption of glass sands in the CIS countries is presented.

The Appendix includes addresses and contact information of the major producers and consumers of glass sands.
