Tianjin Airport Industrial Park (Tianjin AIP) rated “BB” by China Knowledge in a research report on China’s industrial real estate published today. Tianjin AIP was established by the Tianjin municipal government in 2002 and covers an area of 42 sq km. Previously, it was known as Tianjin Airport Logistics and Processing Zone.

Tianjin AIP is located northeast of Tianjin Binhai International Airport, 3 km from downtown Tianjin, 30 km from Tianjin Port, 110 km from downtown Beijing and 115 km from Beijing Capital International Airport. Tianjin Port is a major cargo port. Cargo from Beijing and North and Northwest China has to be loaded in Tianjin Port to be delivered to other coastal regions of China and to other countries. In 2010, the port’s cargo throughput reached 413 million tons, ranking third in China after Shanghai and Ningbo. Binhai Airport is located 10 km from Tianjin’s downtown area. Last year, its cargo throughput reached 202,000 tons, ranking 11th in China.
