Nanchang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone

Nanchang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Nanchang NHIDZ) rated “A” by China Knowledge in a research report on China’s industrial real estate published today. Located in the eastern part of Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province, the development zone was established in March 1991. The zone has attracted around 1,000 enterprises, of which one quarter is foreign invested enterprises.
Nanchang NHIDZ has a well-developed transportation network. It is 5 km from the train station and downtown area of Nanchang, 7 km from the long-distance bus station, and seven km and 25 km from the expressway and Changbei International Airport. Four bus lines connecting the urban trunk roads commence their paths from this zone.
In 2010, Nanchang NHIDZ realized a total GDP of RMB 20.56 billion and a value-added industrial output RMB 13.2 billion. The zone’s value-added industrial output accounted for 20.8% of the city’s total generated by enterprises of the designated size and above.
The zone’s major industries are optical-mechanical-electronic integration, biopharmaceuticals, information technology and new materials. There are over a thousand enterprise investors, including ABB, TCL, Microsoft, ZTE, JZJT Group, Huiren Group, Mitsubishi Group and Fangda Group.
In the first four months of 2011, the utilized FDI increased by 20.2%, and reached US$ 123 million.
Industrial parks rated A have above-average investor appeal. Basic conditions are adequate, but improvements are still needed in some areas. There are 50 single A rated industrial parks among 254 rated by China Knowledge since 2003. This class of industrial parks that are mainly found in the Northeastern, Western and Central China, benefits from these regions’ lower labor cost.
